Verse of the Day: Isaiah 40:31 — Renewed Strength for the Weary

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 40:31 — Renewed Strength for the Weary

Today's Verse

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
— Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Reflect

There is a difference between human strength and God-given strength. Human strength runs out. It hits a wall. It collapses under pressure, grief, and exhaustion. But the strength that comes from hoping in the Lord — from anchoring your trust in who God is — that strength is renewed. Replenished. Inexhaustible.

The Hebrew word used here for "hope" is qavah — it means to wait, to look eagerly, to intertwine yourself with. It's not passive. It's an active, expectant leaning into God.

Today, wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to manufacture strength. You just have to hope. To wait on Him. To trust that He is working even when you cannot see it.

A Moment to Pause

Before you move on with your day, take 60 seconds with this verse. Read it again slowly:

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength..."

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I trying to run on my own strength today?
  • What would it look like to truly hope in God in this season?
  • What area of my life needs His renewal right now?

A Short Prayer

Lord, I am tired in ways I can't always explain. But Your Word says that those who hope in You will be renewed. I choose to hope today — not in my circumstances, not in my own ability, but in You. Renew my strength. Let me soar. Amen.
